So many of us here at the Yours Clothing HQ have been discussing the sports luxe trend and it seems that it’s not the easiest trend in the world to wear or put together. This quirky street style is getting bigger on the high-street this season, so I thought I’d give you the low down on our own sports luxe trend and a few tips on how to wear this rather than avoiding it altogether.
This trend is not new by any stretch of the imagination, and has grown and grown over the past few seasons emerging through the very popular varsity trend which I know all of you ladies love. The sport luxe trend just elaborates on this by including sporty harem trousers, slouchy sweats, sport inspired trims, heels etc. Celebrities have been seen wearing cute little pleated skirts teamed with trainers and sporty vests. It’s all about combining casual textures such as jersey with more sophisticated, delicate fabrics such as chiffon. It mixes sporty casual street styles with smart sleek styles and creating something completely different.

I have put together a few outfits to inspire how to put together a sports luxe outfit from your own wardrobe. The first outfit shows a floaty chiffon skirt teamed up with a printed jersey top with a stretchy ribbed neckline inspired by sportswear uniform. Wear this with a pair of chunky ankle boots or heels for added sophisticated style. If you not feeling quite so daring and the print is a bit much for you try putting a plain jersey t-shirt with this delicate skirt for a more reserved sports luxe style. The second outfit shows a jersey harem trouser with a block stripe to the side seam. These trousers look very casual until paired up with a floaty vest top and heels when they become sleek and smart. The last outfit shows a flared jersey varsity tee with that sporty neckline mixed with a pair of acid wash jeans (these are a great buy this season as they transfer easily across the trends) and a street style bomber jacket a more casual sport luxe outfit! Team any of these trendy outfits with this backpack, or add a slouchy wooly hat for extra street cred.
